Commodity Server lets you mix interval lengths, or even any arbitrary datetime ranges, seemlessly and automatically within each profile.  To help you keep track, Commodity Server display a chart of your data focused in on the time range you are editing. 

Commodity Server lets you create intervals as small as 1 millisecond apart.

Profiles can also be made out of expressions.  An expression can be any combination of values that make a series.  You might use an expression profile to create a price that is $5 higher or $5 lower than another profile for a particular month.  But that's a simple case - you can actually enter in full algebraic expressions that work on profiles and Commodity Server handles all the cases of intersecting dates and gaps for you.

Commodity Server groups let you organize profiles, define custom fields for them, and apply notes to the whole set.  There's also some security so you can lock some profiles out from some people. 

Aggregrate profiles based on your custom fields.  So, for example, you can have a calculated profile whose result is the average of all profiles of type = 'load' and state = 'NJ'.
